Brief History: Ekaterina was born in Budapest during the summer of 1973 to working class parents. A bright girl, she got good marks in school and had a happy but uneventful childhood. Her adolescence, however, was anything but uneventful. Ekaterina came of age during the collapse of the Soviet bloc and subsequently a great many new freedoms and opportunities opened up to her. It was also during this time that she experienced her 'Awakening' and learned that not only was magic real, but she was one of the few that could use it. She went on to university, studying eastern European history, and also studied with a cabal of mages. After graduation she worked full time with the mages, researching the magic inherent in the soil, air, and waters of eastern Europe. To further advance her research she left for California in early 2003, since the southwestern United States and Mexico had a similarly rich cultural history as her native lands, as well as potentially untapped sources of magic. It was here that she ran afoul of the vampire Tatiyanna, who, in an act of cruel spite, turned Ekaterina into an unliving creature of the night, shattering her avatar and ripping the ability to use magic from her forever.

She has spent the last five years as Tatiyanna's captive, performing whatever services were required of her and being subjected to sadistic punishments for even the slightest mistake. The loss of her magical ability, along with her own undead state, left a hole in her heart that weighed heavily upon her. During the long nights of being forced to copy out passages of clan lore for her mistress, Ekaterina learned of koldun sorcery, an eldritch form of magic that originated in the very lands she so unwisely left. She vowed to master koldun sorcery as a sort of replacement for the life that was stolen from her, but she knows that Tatiyanna would never permit her slaves to learn such things. So Ekaterina spends her nights desperately searching for a way to escape her mistress' clutches, so that she might try to reclaim something akin to the life she once had.

Role-Playing Hints: It's a mystery!

Ok. Here are a couple quick things. It looks really good and you did awesome without getting any help. Sick.

You are 9th generation and you don't have to buy it. With your contacts you have 2 of them so far. Do you want them both to be Magi, or would you like something else to be someone who has some skills you don't perhaps?

I can think of a bunch of reasons why you might want a Retainer too. A Guard Dog would be good for you since you don't have much in the way of fighting abilities.

Well I was trying to build the sheet reflecting the character as she is now, still serving Tatiyanna, so I wasn't trying to go overboard. But I suppose I could have a guard dog on the sheet now and simply get it once I'm free. Or maybe a szlachta, but I don't think I'm quite that evil yet (and not skilled enough in vicissitude)

The language for English is because, being from Budapest, her native language is Hungarian. I'll move some dots around real fast then

Ok I think I'm done now. I moved some dots around for a retainer and resources. My rationale for the resources is that she had a stock portfolio set up when she moved to LA and it just kept growing while she was with Tatiyanna, so when she's free she'll have a nice chunk of change built up.
