Swamp Song - Nathaniel

Being told he was going to have to hide in the darkness in the background and take pot shots at unsuspecting targets at first grated against Nathaniel’s bravo, machismo culture of the street. By nature he wasn’t patient enough to be an effective sniper, however during his Temple training he was subjected to many exercises that taught him to go against his own impulses to achieve a goal. Tonight that goal was before him and his tools were being presented.

“Me and tha boys here got’s yer backs tonight Dick.” He thumbed in the direction of the two thugs behind him, “Where be this meetin’s location mon? An’ whut other backup you got planned?” He pulled out a rather large joint from behind his left ear and with a wooden match that he struck against his leather combat boots, he began to smoke figuring he wasn’t going to have a good opportunity to for a while at the least.

Dick was surprisingly not pissed, at least you didn't think he was. He was more focused and mission oriented. He just watched you, uttered something that made your henchmen look a little droopy and had you feeling like he was the reincarnated hunter warrior avatar of Set. "Good thinking bringing some muscle. Can they fight? Of course they can. Edge wants to talk to us about Tatiyanna and the Tremere. This is important, because it sounds like Edge that may support our theories that Tatiyanna is dealing with the werewolves. It will also give us a chance to see which Tremere are in the area. I hope I don't have to explain to you why that is important." You didn't. Knowing what the Tremere and their voodoo is up too is always a good idea. More times then not, the Tremere will be a serious pain in your (READ: Clan Setite's) ass.

Madison took over next. "You've given us good information. We're still looking and this could help solve more of your own mystery." She cocked her head to the side, making her point. It was a good one. Then Dick spoke. "I wanna use you as a sniper. Your Obfuscate and a long range rifle make you a good practical weapon in case the Tremere do something foolish."

The two stood there, giving you the chance to speak your peace.

Extremely loud and obnoxious music was blaring from the vehicle as Nathaniel pulled in behind the Barkley. Seeing Dick, Madison and the Blackhawk Helicopter Nathaniel turned the tunes off. He assumed that Dick was probably going to be pissed about the loud music, not covert or professional enough for the tight-wad, but fuck him! Nathaniel might be getting himself dragged in with the vampire’s Po-po, he wasn’t going to bend over and be pimped by them. They were Anarchs after all, and he was a Setite and a gang banger as well…this was all starting to feel kinda fucked-up to the gigantic Jamaican.

When the SUV stopped, Nathaniel turned and faced his two boys and warned them both, “A’right boyss, me want’s you ta remember, these guys is da’ pigs right. And we’s be tha bad guys.”, there was some boisterous agreement to that assertion form the back seat, “We be working wit da Guardians you be sure mon, but keep an eye on dem and watch yet backs, k?!?”

Without waiting he opened the car door and stepped into the night’s air. As dark as the night time was, Nathaniel was required to put his sun glasses on when he emerged because of the lighting in the lot. Still wearing the same dark clothing from his previous mission that evening, the Setite wore dark coloured combat pants and black steel toed combat boots, tight fishnet T-shirt over a dark trench coat and carrying his large and thick wooden walking stick roughly carved with serpentine figures in relief.

With his two boys in tow, Nathaniel walked toward the pair of Guardians waiting by the helicopter. “A’right, me be here mon. Why don ya tell me what be goin on here eh?”

Talking to Dick was sort of like using a travel agent to book your own vacations. It was very impersonal. Once you had been cleared away from the scene and your boys reported in like they were supposed too, you attempted to call Dick on the same number you'd been using...once again getting Madison. You were redirected to another number and after two rings Dick picked up. He listened to your report giving away very little of anything. Finally he told you that he'd meet you in twenty minutes at the Berkley. There was something new and he wanted you to come along, prepared, of course.

You got there without too much trouble. When you arrived in your big truck, Ramirhez the (fat Mexican) pointed out (in his weezy slow Speedy Gonzalas voice) that, "Yo esse... they have an Apache or someting homes. Are we gonna take that shit out?" Ramirhez was expendable. You had another of your boys too, in the back. All had heat. Dick said to come prepared after all.

The helicopter wasn't an Apache. You knew as soon as you seen it that it was a blackhawk transport. It had two side mounted machine gun ports on the left and right. It's most unique feature was that it was painted what appeared to be black. Dick was standing there under a light next to the helicopter and so was Madison. Both were dressed sort of like ninjas in dark colored tactical gear. Both had guns in their hands at the ready. Both of them noticed the SUV immediately.
