OC: Ok, I think I need a Manipulation + Persuasion roll from you to see if you can keep pulling off this act. + 3 if you want to spend a willpower.

While the officer had gone, Michael had snagged the tape, replacing it with the one he'd brought. In addition, he had called Vinnie, saying that he had what he was after and now needed a reassignment off the case, the sooner the better. He was hoping that the Police contact would come through for him soon.

Looking up from the equipment he was supposedly familiarizing himself with, Michael said, "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm ready when you are."

As Raia headed off to grab some coffee for the trip, you had more than enough time to swap the tapes. You were in luck. The tape you pulled was labeled for that night and the previous one. However that's assuming anything eventful happened in that time. In any case, you at least had a piece of what you needed well before Raia returned with a thermas and a couple foam cups. And he didn't seem to notice the Obfuscated tape in your hand. "Ok, you ready to roll?"

Feel free to stop me if you actually bailed before he got back. I'll fix this post if that's the case.

Michael slips into character with no hesitation. "No, I was under the impression that it was just going to be one or two other people, in fact."

He looks into the van, already formulating an idea for how to get what he needs and slip away.

The door swung open an instant before you touched it, as one of the officers inside was about to step out. The man looked Hispanic, which was more or less confirmed when you heard his accent. He was kind of short but still looked like he kept in shape, dark completion, and a mustache. He was startled for an instant, as he didn't expect anyone to be there. But he greeted you with a smile. "Hey man, you must be the new rookie. Wasn't sure you were gonna make it. I'm Sgt. Fernando Raia." He hopped out of the van and offered his hand. "I was just about to grab my coffee before heading out, this is a pretty boring shift. You get a chance to meet the rest of the graveyard crew?"

Michael decided to try for the ID and then come back to do the job for his sire. Heading to the police station, he pulled around the back and found the van easily. He tried to stay out of sight as he put on the police uniform; once it was on, he marched confidently to the back door of the van and tried the door.

Ever since the mess at the train station when the police had it out with some idiots who had unwittingly Ghouled themselves, the city's officials have been looking for answers. This was the biggest Masquerade breech in years, and the Regent was in no mood to look bad before his Prince than he already did with the Carthian issue.

The blood that the ganbangers drank was apparently stored in jars, and the Carthian Primogen somehow got ahold of one. He informed them that they were filled with water, and turned to sand when broken. All signed pointed to a Theban Ritual, meaning the Sheriff was going to put some heat on some Lancea Sanctum members at any moment. Trouble is, the Spears know nothing of it. So you've been assigned the task of at least getting them up to speed on what everyone else knows.

The place is the police station on 13th Street and Madison. The target is the evidence room for anything taken from that train, and the case files, even if all you can get are copies. The point isn't to hinder the investigation, let the Sheriff take care of that. The point is just to know what he knows. Your Sire also suggested that you might pull a jail-brake and take back with you the only surviving gangbanger who still has his memory in tact. But that was strictly optional.

One of your friends in the 'family' has provided you with a uniform. In return, he wants you to do something not unlike your Sire. He wants to get up to speed on what the police know about a bookie of theirs whom they suspect has been skimming and double-dealing. He said he's got things set up so you can get brief access to the surveillance van. However he didn't know that you were already headed for the station itself, so you have a couple options here. On the other hand, if you go to the van first and take care of that little favor, he promised an ID card to go with the uniform, that you figure can get you in the side door of the staion.
