Warden Barry "Banjo" Smedley. Barry is as mean as they come. He treats teh Rock as his personal fiefdom. Pay the price and don't give him trouble...you might see the light of day again. He's the head of the parole board so he has many sycophants among the prison crew. The reality is that most on board think he's embezzling money. His nickname "banjo" is not complimentary. It started out amongst the guards before it spread to the inmates. He was caught indulging in some manual self relief by a female guard. The warden has no idea and thinks it is for some other complimentary reason.

Guard Ian "Giraffe" Holmes. Ian is a bastard, pure and simple. He should have never passed the psych eval for the military, let alone the prison guard. He rules by fear. He's known to have beaten several prisoners to death. His habitual sneer for the inmates gives him a bad reputation amongst even the guards, but they stick to their own. He's not even had disciplinary action taken against him. Like the worst bullies, he's only powerful in a crowd. He's never seen alone.

Guard Terry "Take" Tobin. Terry is as his nickname suggests very approachable to almost anything a covnict could possibly want...in return for a small financial contribution. He's not greedy and he stays bought. He won't do anything to risk the rather comfortable position he's made for himself, but....you need someone to look another way while you arrange to "meet" another convict...Terry is your man. He'll occasionally bring in small luxury items...whisky, cigars etc, but he won't bring in anything untowards. He just brings in the small luxuries people need from time to time.

Melissa "Brains" Bryant - The most intelligent person in the Verse. She remains politically unaffiliated in the prison. It's rumored she could leave at any time she wished, she knows that much about the security systems and guards. It's rumoured the only reason she doesn't do so is that she can hack from inside the prison and has the perfect alibi. She seems very distracted and although physically diminutive, she's pretty vicious with a knife. She's in prison for tax evasion. The Alliance figured she owed them 8.2 billion credits.

Andrew "Cutlery" Davenport - This man is not feared for his ability with a knife. His nickname is given for ther reason he ended up on the Rock. He stole the sutlery from a silver service party at the Alliance governor's House. Despite how he sounds the man is a master locksmith. He runs with the Browncoats. Used to be in Logistics. Many think of him as a bit of a weasel, but he's never snitched on anyone to the guards. He's trying to gain some reputation as an information broker. It's small time stuff he hears.

Brian "Bugeye" Bolan - He's not been gifted with the best of good looks. His name is given for a reason, he looks like a creepy fella from a Dickens novel. Thin and scrawny. He's not exactly anyone that people would talk to normally, but he's seen so much and done so much, everyone goes to him to hear his stories. He's in for piracy and the stories he tells are of his pirate days. He claims that during the war he was a privateer, not a pirate and he shouldn't even be in jail. Be that as it may, he knows most starships inside and out and can astrogate on the back end of a napkin.
