SITE UPDATES OPTIONAL READING

Alright ladies and gentlemen. A little pet project of mine has come to an end. Anyone that has read most of the things on the site is aware that we have an issue with the gallery and its modest 10mb size limit. The largest gallery was mostly removed. This still only leaves us with 15% of the gallery space free.

So, with that said I am imposing file size limits: 100kb

I will be going through along with the other Admins in the next few weeks and combing the galleries. All images that exceed that requirement will be removed. Should anyone make a donation to the site for storage space (Information Here) we will gain additional storage space and I will increase file size limits accordingly.

Anyone with pictures in the gallery needs to go through and get your images sorted out or find somewhere else to host them.

I apologize for this, but we work on limited space and we have to share that space as much as we can.

Been awhile since there were any updates so...

Please add your games to the appropriate thread in the Index (so we can get that out the way). For those you whose games are NOT imbedded in the HORROR GAMES Category, do not post a link. Thanks. ~Ac1d

In other news: Hoping the Character Sheet Generator is ready for usage soon. For now, it will only support Vampire: The Masquerade, but I have hopes to add new systems soon. This Generator will also have the ability for an ST to "Log In" and award XP to the sheet. You recall the sheet, spend your points (it"ll do the math for you) and hit save. When you need it again it will recall it.

It'll do this for Freebies points as well during initial creation. If anyone would like to help with this please get with Claymore. As our resident code monkey he's the one bringing these awesome features to the site like the Dice Roller we're all using.

We also have (maybe) a site wide radio coming, and Avatar / PC switching. For those of you that left RPoL, if you remember how you had to select the PC you posted as, thats what we're looking at here.

I'll also be going through some of the threads in the General Chat and be cleaning those up over the next few days as well as the work I need to get done with my games.

The dice roller has been added to the Navigation bar up at the top of the page.
This roller is fully functional and ready to rock n roll.

A few things about it:
It opens up 2 pop-ups for now. So make sure you got your pop ups disabled or at least where you can catch them. One is the roller itself, another will be a blank window. After you make the roll you're free to close both.

The Roller posts its results IN THE DICE ROLLER LOG THREAD as the person rolling the dice. Let me explain that another way: If YOU roll the dice, YOUR results will be in the above linked thread as if YOU had posted them there.

Now, the deal with that thread: ONLY Administrators can make edits to that thread (and if I'm mistaken Editing a post in that thread by anyone other than an Admin will result in a site-wide ban for cheating). Players: If you make an error with your roll just roll again with the "Reason" stating something along the lines as "corrected roll" or whatever. If you need an edit to your post GO THROUGH YOUR Storyteller. ST's, if for whatever odd reason you require a post to be edited in that thread you need to PM an Admin with a link to the post, and what the new info needs to say. Admin's, don't edit your own shit, and don't give ST's shit about editing posts that pertain to their games.

I'll leave both rollers up for a week or so, then the ST's and Admins will pow-wow about which method we like, blah blah blah, and I'll kill one of the rollers.

I'm sure everyone noticed the changes to the site with where everything is located. I apologizse if anyone got lost.

I assure you, in the long run, it is for the best. As the site grows we'll be needing to move things around to keep it easy to navigate, and the changes made, as mentioned a few times now, were part of those changes.

Now for the bad news: Since having my computer fixed my none of my photo editing software is working anymore. So, until I can scrape up the money to get my good software working we'll have to settle for what we got. Sorry.


More good news: Some major ground is being made with the sheet and the new dice roller and I am expecting a beta test for both to work out, if not a final product very soon. Once the sheet generator is done itll be a snap to create and format sheets for different games. However, due to the intense amount of code required for each sheet we will only be supporting a few games to begin with. We may add more as the site grows, but for now the only ones I readily like to see supported are the White Wolf systems and maybe a DnD sheet. Again, this will continue to be a work in progress.

Last thing: On 28MAY2009 I will be moving to VA, and may be unavailable for a few days while I get settled in and get moving again.

I've gone through and taken a look at some of the forums and threads across the game. Over the next few days, once I get caught up with my gaming responsibilities I will personally be going through and reorganizing the game to consolidate, eliminate, and generally stream line the site to make it easier to navigate and prevent these small examples of redundancy and general untidiness from becoming massive messes that require hours to fix. If any of this affects a game the ST will receive a PM and we can discuss further actions / compromise from there. Ideally I would like everything to follow this format:

I know Jedi and I are responsible for setting up your games, but sometimes things slip through. So, pending my talks with STs, I will be moving things around to fit the above format. This presents EVERY game in the same manner. So any newb to the site can find the information they need without digging through a different format.

A note about the dice roller: We're working on something with the diceroller which will negate the need for the existing system, completely eliminate the option to edit dice posts, and still function better than what we got now.

We also gained some serious ground on the sheet. All of this is thanks to Claymore, who has been busting ass on both projects. I would expect a Beta roll out in a few games very soon so we can test both of them. In fact I'm hoping both will be ready for the Dark Ages game I'm working on.

This thread will contain any updates that affect the entire SITE, not just a game or two. Please be aware this is optional reading. For those of you wanting to stay abreast of the most current updates to the site.
