Ol' Monte is an aged cowboy from the wild west. He is the genuine article. A land owner's son, he fought for what he believed in the civil war and then went west as a cattle hand afterwords. Embraced by a Toreador enthralled by the "Wild" part of the "West" in what is now a non-existent ghost town, Monte likes to avoid talking about his history, opting to focus on rare and valuable Noddist lore instead. Monte doesn't care much for politics and doesn't belong to any coterie. He is an Independent by default because practical logic tells him to defer to Edge.
